DALLAS – The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Dallas County $25 million to advance the Dallas County Inland Port Multimodal Connectivity Project.

The project will widen a series of roads from two-lane roadways to four-lane divided facilities to increase safety and improve mobility.

Plans include building shared-use paths and sidewalks and installing intersection upgrades, signage, alert signals, pavement marking, and enforcement measures.

The improved roads will also be more resilient to extreme weather and natural disasters.

Construction is expected to begin in April 2027.
