THE WOODLANDS – Real estate developer Howard Hughes has broken ground on 1 Riva Row, the city’s first high-rise apartment tower.

The 13-story, 268-unit apartment project will rise about a block south of the manmade water feature, The Woodlands Waterway, off Six Pines Dr. less than half a mile from Chevron Phillips Chemical’s offices.

Units will range from 600 to 2,457 sf. Residents will have access to a four-story amenity center with a sky lounge terrace, pet park, indoor/outdoor pool deck with cabanas, fire pit, grills, private dining pods, and lounge seating overlooking The Woodlands Waterway. Plans also call for a sports lounge with large TVs, sports simulator, pool table, and bar-style seating.

The building will be completed in about two years.
