Improvements Serve Up Tax Breaks
The 2004 Tax Act provides tax changes for commercial property leasehold improvements and restaurant improvements. As long as basic criteria are met, improvements can now be depreciated over a 15-year period rather than 39 years. Restaurant improvements also receive 50 percent first-year bonus depreciation.
