North Texas approves $217.3B Mobility 2050 plan to meet growth, expand transit infrastructure
DALLAS – The Regional Transportation Council has approved a $217.3 billion long-range plan, Mobility 2050, to address road, rail, and public transit needs in North Texas.
Key allocations include $97.5 billion for freeways, $57.9 billion for rail and buses, and $29.8 billion for maintenance.
Major projects include $3.95 billion for IH 30, $3.73 billion for the SE Dallas Y-Connector, and $2.97 billion for US 175.
Funding will come from state support, gas tax hikes, new vehicle fees, tolls, and private investment.
The plan is under federal review through December 3.
