TAMU System greenlights $6.6B five-year capital plan
AUSTIN – The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has approved a $6.6 billion, five-year capital plan.
The project includes nearly $2 billion in new projects scheduled for 2026 through 2030 with $830.6 million in projects set to begin in 2026.
Texas A&M in College Station has $1.1 billion in proposed construction. This includes the $235 million Center for Learning Arts and Innovation, a $220 million Biology Teaching and Research Building, and a $192 million for Mays Business Building #3. A $130 million West Campus Learning Commons is also planned.
Tarleton State University has $297 million in projects. Major items include a $125 million College of Osteopathic Medicine, a $120 million dorm on Cain Street, and a $48 million Innovation Lab.
Prairie View A&M University has $228.1 million in projects. These include a $130 million Public and Allied Health Complex, a $54 million Hobart Taylor expansion, and $20 million each for Wyatt Chapel Memorial Park and the Texas Institute for Preservation of History and Culture Museum.
Texas A&M–San Antonio has $86 million in planned projects, led by an $80 million Health Sciences Building.
Texas A&M AgriLife Research has $53.5 million for a Rio Grande Valley Research Center in McAllen.
System Offices will see $39 million in work, including a $24 million Law and Education Building addition.
Texas A&M–Texarkana has $24.9 million in projects, including a $16.4 million storm shelter and safe room.
Another $4.6 billion covers previously approved projects already in design or construction.
