Texas awards $45M for new infrastructure upgrades
AUSTIN – The state has approved more than $45 million in infrastructure upgrades for three communities.
The largest share, $43.3 million, goes to Brazoria County for ditch, road, water treatment, and sewer improvements aimed at easing flooding, drainage bottlenecks, and strain from rapid growth.
The remainder is allocated to smaller projects in Clute and Buffalo focused on stormwater and drainage.
The funds come from a $1.166 billion pool of federal HUD mitigation grants distributed since November 2023, with over $600 million already committed.
