DALLAS – Dallas has approved an $800 million plan to expand and renovate Love Field Airport, with construction scheduled to begin in 2027.

The airport, designed for six million passengers annually, now handles about 10 million and is projected to reach 12 million within 15 years.

The Love Field Expansion Airport Program (LEAP) outlines 14 projects over six years, coordinated with the 2025 Master Plan: Love What’s Next.

Major elements include expanding the concourse by 50 ft, constructing a terminal headhouse, replacing a cargo facility with a parking garage, and building new access roadways and support facilities.

Other projects add a bridge between the concourse and airfield, new passenger screening areas, a Security Identification Display Area, an expanded Central Utility Plant, a baggage claim, a baggage handling system, and redesigned curbs and vehicle drop-off points.

The program emphasizes operational efficiency and environmental sustainability with long-term plans for continued development over the next two decades.
