UT Arlington unveils major campus projects under updated Master Plan

ARLINGTON – The University of Texas at Arlington has outlined major updates within its Campus Master Plan.  

Planned work includes new campus gateways, expanded greenspace, structured parking, a boutique hotel, student housing, and new academic facilities. 

Five focus areas are identified as North Gateway, Campus Front Door, Campus Nexus, Campus Link and Creek Corridor North. 

North Gateway plans include a boutique hotel with a conference center, a performing arts facility, a transit hub, student housing and multiple academic buildings.  

Campus Front Door will add student housing, expand the University Center, and add a new academic and research facility.  

Campus Nexus includes expansion of the Central Library and academic buildings.  

Campus Link includes a mixed-use area with 1,000 beds, student life space, dining, recreation, and mobility connections.  

Creek Corridor North plans include high-density housing, structured parking, expansion of the Maverick Activities Center, new academic buildings, courtyards, plazas, and a chiller plant. 

Separate planned athletic and recreation work includes an athletics facility and campus gateway, track and soccer field improvements, tennis courts and a multipurpose field. 

Active projects include Cooper Street Bridge renovations, Greek Life Community Center renovations, Life Sciences expansion and renovation, Maverick Hall upgrades, a study for the School of Social Work site, Library Mall revitalization, and University Center renovation and expansion.
