Amazon moving forward with next project in Round Rock
ROUND ROCK – Amazon.com Inc. plans to start work in September on a $73 million project on 193 acres along CR 172.
The 141,360-sf project, described as a “new concrete tilt construction of warehouse with interior office buildout,” is expected to be complete within a year.
The northern portion of the property has been operating as a delivery station, serving customers within a 50-mile radius. The southern portion of the property may be used to build a data center and electric substation, although it could be a much larger robot-sorted warehouse and distribution center.
The new project would create up to 200 jobs, not including delivery service providers, with construction planned to begin by the end of this year and be completed within 12 months.
