AUSTIN – In the second round of the Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program, the Broadband Development Office (BDO) has awarded $9.8 million to eight applicants.

The chosen projects will replace over 7,800 utility poles in unserved regions.

Part of a $75 million initiative, the program reimburses costs related to removing, replacing, and upgrading poles to support broadband expansion.

The program’s first round distributed $18.5 million. With funds still available, additional funding rounds are expected.
