ROSENBERG – Dhanani Private Equity Group has acquired 289 acres of farmland for a residential development near Rosenberg that could bring 1,000 homes to Fort Bend County.

The land, located on Wernecke Rd. at Straznicky Rd. about 45 miles southwest of downtown Houston, was acquired from the Wendt family. It will be developed with single-family lots for sale to builders. It is part of Needville ISD south of the city of Beasley.

Land Advisors Organization marketed the property, which was part of a larger tract in the Kendleton/Beasley area, for the Wendt family. The remainder of the tract, totaling 1,480 acres in the Lamar Consolidated ISD, is under contract to an undisclosed buyer for a master-planned community.

Dhanani expects to break ground in the next year and a half to two years and deliver initial lots to builders within four years.
