Georgetown to invest $94M in wastewater treatment plant
GEORGETOWN – The City will invest $93.8 million in the Northlands Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
Built on a 20-acre site over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, the plant will treat three million gallons per day (mgd).
It will have on-site treatment, a reuse storage tank, and pumping facilities, along with coarse and fine screens, aeration basins, clarifiers, and disinfection systems.
Off-site infrastructure includes an effluent line to Jennings Branch, a force main from Sun City, and a reuse line to the Sun City Reclaimed System.
Construction will begin in early 2027. A temporary package plant will provide one mgd of wastewater treatment capacity during construction.
