Spaceport Development Corp. clears hurdle in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY – The County has approved the creation of the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation (SDC) to support space infrastructure, including launch sites and related facilities.  

In collaboration with Burnet County, the SDC will oversee spaceport projects, manage investments, and promote business and educational initiatives.  

The seven-member board has authority under the Texas Local Government Code to acquire property and develop infrastructure.  

If approved by Burnet County on March 25, the Central Texas SDC will become the state’s sixth spaceport, aiming to attract aerospace companies and advance space transportation efforts.
