Floodplain reclamation and development plan in the works near DFW Airport
DALLAS – Plans are underway for River Central, a floodplain reclamation and development project along the Trinity River that will become a walkable mixed-use development.
The 400-acre site will have approximately 140 acres fit for development once the floodplain reclamation project is completed.
The zoning specs suggest the land could be developed into more than 8,000 housing units between apartments, townhouses, condos, and single-family homes.
Situated halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, the development will be transit-oriented with a luxury hotel, high-end retail, and entertainment options on site.
The floodplain reclamation project won’t begin for 12 to 18 months, while the completion of the entire development plan is likely ten to 15 years away.
