Sherman-Denison - Housing Activity

Data Series Description

Housing statistics on this page are based on listing data from over 50 MLS (Multiple Listing Service) systems in Texas. They represent the highest level aggregate of the housing market based on combined listings of Single Family, Condominium and Townhouse properties, both New Construction and Existing Construction, sold through MLS systems. New home sales negotiated directly between the builder and buyer, outside of the MLS, are not included in this dataset. Existing home sales negotiated outside of the MLS are not included in this dataset. Statistics for each geography are calculated based on listed properties physically located within the mapped area presented with the statistics.

Geographic Definitions

Metropolitan areas are constructed from constituent counties as delineated by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in 2023. Delineation information can be found in OMB Bulletin No. 23-01. Historical data is calculated as if the 2023 delineations had always existed so the data is comparable over time.

Local Market Area (LMA): An area defined by the local Association/Board of REALTORS® representing a logical market of homes that can be grouped together for meaningful statistical reporting.
