“Mixed” was the byword for the first quarter of this year when it came to land prices and sales volume declines across the state. This is true for the second quarter as well.

Tighter financial conditions and uncertainty about future economic and financial conditions continued to subdue activity in Texas rural land markets through first quarter 2024.

High interest rates continue to reduce effective demand for many appreciable assets, including rural land.
