AUSTIN – The city of Austin and the Port of Houston Authority will invest $39.8 million in EV infrastructure.

The Port of Houston Authority will allocate $24.8 million to build a publicly accessible hydrogen fueling station in Bayport for heavy-duty trucks, supporting nationwide decarbonization efforts.

Austin Energy will use $15 million to install 284 charging ports at public locations, including multifamily dwellings, schools, and community centers, with a focus on underserved areas.

These projects aim to promote clean transportation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
