CAMERON – The city of Cameron will invest $8.3 million in a Railroad Quiet Zone and Complete Streets project.

The project will add safety features, including automatic warning devices, curbing, medians, and pedestrian gates, across five railroad crossings to reduce noise pollution and protect pedestrians.

Two crossings will also receive complete streets improvements, such as sidewalks, drainage upgrades, street lighting, shade trees, and remediated trails, enhancing mobility and reconnecting neighborhoods.

Construction begins in February 2026.
