HAR ranks Houston’s hottest housing markets

HOUSTON – Porter/New Caney West and Conroe Southeast topped the Houston Association of Realtors’ recent list of hottest residential markets in the Houston area.

Rankings were based on the percent increase in transactions in a given area each quarter.

Porter/New Caney West, near I-69 and the Grand Parkway, had the biggest percentage spike in home sales in the Houston area in the first quarter, expanding 121 percent year-over-year to 263 transactions.

Conroe Southeast ranked second on the list with total sales jumping nearly 86 percent to 273 in the first quarter.

Newly constructed homes accounted for 68 percent of all home sales in the Porter/New Caney West and Conroe Southeast areas in the first quarter.
