PINEHURST – A new H-E-B store is estimated to take over 68,000 to 70,000 sf in a vacant shopping center that was built in the 1950s.

Billed as Orange’s first shopping center, MacArthur Drive Shopping Center, will be torn down to make way for an H-E-B Plus store on seven acres at MacArthur Dr. and Strickland Dr.

The city is about two months away from tearing down one of its first retail hubs to make room for a larger H-E-B a little more than a mile from a smaller existing store.

H-E-B has six other stores in Southeast Texas, including two in Beaumont and Port Arthur and one in Lumberton and Groves.
