San Antonio: Hilliard Center health clinic begins construction
SAN ANTONIO – The Dr. Robert L.M. Hilliard Center at 601 Runnels Ave. has broken ground. The 25,000-sf University Health System clinic sits on two acres near I-35 and Walters St.
The $5 million cost of the clinic was partly funded by a Medicaid waiver, which allows extra federal dollars to go to entities and programs that provide Medicaid-funded services.
The site includes room for the center to expand as the needed in the years to come, officials said.
Scheduled to open at the end of next year, the center will provide primary care for adults and children, including immunizations, cancer screenings and women’s health, but specialists will also rotate through its 16 to 20 exam rooms.
Mental health treatment will also be available.
