San Antonio to spend $30.8M to improve road conditions, safety, mobility 

SAN ANTONIO – The city plans to spend $30.8 million to improve roadway infrastructure, traffic flow, drainage, and pedestrian safety. 

The city will use $21.6 million to reconstruct roads and improve safety conditions for the second phase of the Old Highway 90 project. As part of the project, they will also install replacement concrete sidewalks and curbs, updated pedestrian ADA-compliant ramps, and driveway approaches. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2026. 

Five million dollars will go toward improving intersections along Military Dr. and Ingram Rd. Plans include adding left- and right-turn lanes and ADA-compliant ramps. The city will add pavement markings, install traffic signals, and widen turn lanes. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2025. 

Finally, the city will allocate $4.2 million to enhance traffic and mobility at several District 9 intersections. The city will also improve turn lanes, curbs, sidewalks, driveway approaches, and drainage. Construction is expected to begin in winter 2026.
