Renderings of the two TAMU-TEX buildings nearing completion in Texarkana.TEXARKANA – Two buildings currently under construction at Texas A&M University-Texarkana are nearing completion.

The 38,000-sf Student Recreation Center, scheduled to open October 2, is an $11 million multipurpose facility containing a basketball/volleyball court, offices, classrooms, locker rooms, training room, and Starbucks coffee shop.

The $32 million, 58,000-sf Building for Academic and Student Services is still under construction nearby, with an anticipated opening date of spring 2019. 

The first floor will contain enrollment services, financial aid, and the business office. The second floor will house the college of business and the third floor will be a simulated hospital for use by the university’s nursing program.
