SAN ANTONIO – Local developer VersaTerra is planning a 2,000-acre development on the city’s southeast side that will add thousands of new homes and hundreds of acres of commercial development.

The project will go up at Loop 410 and New Sulphur Springs Rd. It will deliver about 5,000 new home lots and around 700 acres of commercial and industrial development.

It’s a joint venture between VersaTerra and R City Developments, a family-owned company from Mexico that owns the site.

Development is slated for a 15-year turnaround. VersaTerra is currently zoning and entitling the property, and the developer expects to break ground around spring of next year.
