Groves 45-acre Patch on par with 150 homes

GROVES, JEFFERSON COUNTY – Last known as The Patch — a former nine-hole golf course — was sold in December to real estate developers Albanese Cormier. The group plans to build more than 150 homes on the 45-acre tract.

The subdivision, under the working name Indian Springs, will consist of homes between 1,700 and 3,000 sf. It will feature winding roads, its own recreation area, concrete walking paths and a homeowners’ association to create and enforce neighborhood-specific rules.

Albanese Cormier specializes in commercial real estate development and renovation in several states. The company is headquartered in Beaumont in the Edison Plaza building it acquired and remodeled.

Groves Mayor Brad Bailey and his partner, operating under the name Romero Texas Properties, sold the private land to the Beaumont-based developers.
